Keiko Mita's beautiful Angel Hair Harp Brooch won second prize in the 2011 Designer Jewelry Showcase Competition. Inspired by the delicate strings of a harp, it was created from 18K gold, silk thread, and rutilated quartz. The long thin harp strings are repeated in the golden needle-like rutile (often called venus hair) embedded in the quartz. The healing power of rutilated quartz is said to improve mental focus and boost energy levels.
